I decided to take a break today, and went boating on the river. It took me a couple hours to get ready, so I went out late. I finally managed to compensate for my boat tendency to turn left, albeit with lost efficiency.

By chance, I met with a fellow Folbot owner. His is Aleut, mine is Kodiak. He shared some tips on how to assemble the boat properly. I certainly intent to follow his tips next time I go boating.

Even with lost efficiency, my boat can go quite fast, about 4 mph, sustained speed. It's great to know how to paddle properly, so that I don't even mind using what the fellow call "junk paddle" to paddle my boat. I think I'll keep using it for the time being.

Boating at dusk is especially nice. I put in a picture on my picture page to show the scenery, and I can tell you as beautiful as it is, it doesn't do the experience justice.
