2001-09-02 Today is Middletown's 350th birthday. There is a long parade in Main Street today. Had quite a big fun. Perfect occasion to bring my newly acquired Logitech QuickCam Traveler camera. Unfortunately, I forgot to replace the battery before I left home. The result is that I rushed in taking the pictures and missed quite a bit interesting scenery before the parade was over.Sometime in the middle of parade, I chat with street vendor, who was stopping by for ice cream. Joel is his name. We chat quite a bit. Interesting fellow. I hope I get to talk with him again. The parade itself was quite nice. I get to see many unique vehicles: Corvettes, Humvees, and Model T's. Coming up close and personal does make a difference than watching it on TV.
As soon as I get home, I downloaded the pictures to the computer. The whole process took me about 90 seconds. I guess USB is quite slow. Considering that the whole thing clocks in at 9.8 MB, that's about 6 MB/min. The picture quality is quite nice, although it could be sharper. I put a sample on my picture page. © 2001-2003 Harry M.
